Brand Identity Blueprint: A Template for Designing a Relevant & Differentiated Brand

If you are a marketer, you have probably spent many hours defining and refining brand statements and know firsthand that writing a concise description of a brand’s go-to-market platform can be a real challenge. After all, strong brands are multi-dimensional by design and address multiple stakeholder groups. However, the quest for simplicity is worth the effort, as it makes the brand’s “north star” accessible to everyone who makes decisions that impact the brand. Without one, it can be tough to ensure consistency across touchpoints.

The Brand Identity Blueprint Template

Our one-page Brand Identity template describes the essential elements: Value Proposition, Positioning, Rallying Cry. It’s harder to complete than it appears and the process is often as useful as the result. You can always add more elements – narrative, personality, mission and values, to name a few. But we think it’s an excellent starting point and a worthwhile exercise, whether you are creating a new brand, refreshing an existing one, or simply looking for a way to ensure everyone in the organization understands your promise.
